Shute Harbour

Today was a rest day. And what better place to have a rest day than in Shute Harbour with the turquoise waters of the Coral Sea as the backdrop and numerous opportunities of exploring the Great Barrier Reef.
Our entertainments officer, Heather, arranged for us to go on a cruise on a sailing catamaran The Edge which took us to Hayman Island along the way the crew hoisted the spinnaker, while we just lolled about on the deck.

Once there we could go for a walk along the coral beach (no sand here, just bits of coral), snorkel over the reef or go scuba diving. As you can see Heather got ready to head under the seas

Jens and Dirk decided against water activities - after all water does not afford one terribly much support - we'd rather be in the safety of the air.
